Riverside College is responsive to the needs of the faculty for professional advancement. The conferences, and seminar-workshops attended by the faculty for the month of July were based on the results of the Training Needs Survey conducted during the first quarter of 2024.
Psychology Program Head Ms. Starlyn Balinas and CAS faculty Mr. Bryan Lois Villanueva together with 11 Psychology students attended a seminar on “Artificial Intelligence and Psychology: Its Impact in Psychological Practice” last July 20, with Mr. Richthofen de Jesus, RPM, RPsy, CDR as the Resource Speaker.

A 2-day Training-Workshop on “Recalibrating Education: Challenging Traditional Instructional Approaches Towards Becoming Innovative Educators” was given by Mr. Edward Nubla, PhD last July 22 and 23 to all the full-time faculty at the RCI AVR. Topics on leadership and management, technology and innovation, and instructional effectiveness were discussed.

SHS Faculty Mr. Christian Octaviano and Ms. Roselyn Corilla together with Ms. Crislyn Calo, Ms. Jamela de la Llave, and Ms. Christy Mia Sian of the Education Technology office represented Riverside College during the Innovations Conference for Education last July 24 at the USLS Coliseum. The plenary speaker was Mr. Francis Jim B. Tuscano who talked on “The Heart of the Matter: The Essential Role of Blended Learning and Technology Innovation in the Implementation of the MATATAG Curriculum. Emerging frameworks in technology integration were explored.
A Research Conference with the theme “Exploring the Role of Artificial Intelligence in Advancing Action Research Writing Practices was held last July 26, 2024, at the USLS Coliseum. Practical strategies to navigate the integration of AI in action research were shared by the Conference Speaker, Dr. Genaro V. Japos of the National Research Council of the Philippines.
