A Formal Survey Visit was conducted by PAASCU last January 23-24, 2020 for three programs of Riverside College. PAASCU Representative Ms. Jane Martinez coordinated the group of 7 Accreditors headed by Fr. Generous Gonesto, OSA from Colegio San Agustin, Biñan, who was also the Chairperson for Faculty Area of Psychology. The other Accreditors for Psychology were Dr. Antonio Batomalaque of the University of San Carlos in Cebu for the area on Laboratories and Dr. Olga Tulabut from Angeles, Pampanga for Curriculum and Instruction.

The Faculty Area of the Medical Technology program was visited by Dr. Marie Emmeline Yu of Cebu Doctor’s University while the Laboratories and Curriculum/Instruction areas were evaluated by Dr. Avee Joy Dayaganon of the University of Immaculate Conception, Davao.

For the Pharmacy program, the areas on Faculty and Laboratories were evaluated by Dr. Alicia Catabay of the De La Salle, Cavite while Ms. Fatima May Tesoro of San Pedro College, Davao was assigned for Curriculum and Instruction.
Riverside College is grateful to all those who helped in the preparations for the PAASCU Visit especially the student volunteers of the three programs and the special committees who provided assistance to the Accreditors. The results of the visit are expected within the next 4-6 months.

Budget Assistant

Job Descriptions

  • Receives annual budget requests from the different departments and work units of the institution; examines budget estimates for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with procedures and regulations; prepares recommendations on approval/ disapproval on the basis of budget preparation parameters and guidelines.
  • Prepares logistical and document requirements for budget hearings: takes down notes on discussions and agreements arrived at during the budget hearings and incorporates such agreements in the consolidation of the institutional budgets.
  • Assists in the consolidation of the institutional budget on the basis of decision actions arrived at during the budget hearing.
  • Maintains and updates computerized information system relative to expenditures of the different cost centers; reviews trends noted and comes up with initial analysis and set of recommendations more particularly in relation to unfavorable variances.
  • Monitors budget performance of different departments and work units; assists in preparation of budget feedback reports, analyzing variances between approved budgets and actual expenditures to maintain expenditures controls.
  • Prepares detailed budget charts, tables, and spreadsheets, as needed, in support of a variety of budgetary analyses and special projects; compiles and displays data using table and graph spreadsheet applications as requested.
  • Screens budget realignment requests to ascertain whether there will be sources of funding; prepares corresponding recommendations on action to take on such requests.
  • Responds to basic day to day queries on budget matters; provides assistance with cost analysis, fiscal allocation, and budget preparation.

Job Descriptions

  • Initiates the development of health maintenance plans, programs, and activities in coordination and cooperation with different department heads to promote health and wellness among the members of the school community.
  • Responds to medical emergencies; administers first aid treatment to learners and employees, taking into consideration the independent, dependent and collaborative functions and decision making authorities.
  • Issues over-the-counter medicine as requested by learners and employees of the school upon clearance with the school physicians and/or personal doctors.
  • Attends to sick learners and employees, refers them to the school physician for diagnosis, and isolates them in case of communicable diseases; coordinates with the Principal or Dean or Director for Student Services or the Human Resource Manager to enable them to inform respective parents of learners/employees on procedures undertaken on the ailing learner and his/her current condition and to generate decisions from them on what next to undertake.
  • Relays to relevant school authorities the Doctor’s advice on sending learners and employees home, or excusing their absence from classes or office work as a result of illness or accident.
  • Arranges for the transport of and/or accompanies, in the absence of a doctor or as instructed by the latter, learners / employees to their respective homes, or to a hospital in case of emergency; assists learners in availing of hospital emergency services against their insurance coverage.
  • Assists the physicians and dentists during the actual conduct of the regular physical examinations for learners and employees; assists in the conduct of physical examination for athletes joining meets, opens, and intramurals, and for learners on athletic scholarship.
  • Provides one-on-one advisory and counseling services on health matters to learners and employees upon their request.
  • Prepares and releases medical certificates and health records to learners and employees upon request and as authorized by the physician.
  • Monitors, with the guidance of the physician, possible outbreak of infectious diseases to be able to contain them before they intensify; undertakes information campaign on preventive measures; provides recommendations to take in relation to prevailing situation.
