The Senior High School Department in collaboration with the Center for Research and Community Development is having a “Plush Toy Drive” to support NVC’s “Huggables of Hope” campaign. NVC or Negros Volunteers for Change is a non-profit organization who engages in independent and collaborative efforts to fight the ill-effects of hunger and poverty in the areas of nutrition, education and livelihood. NVC’s call to support their campaign for pre-loved stuffed toys is for the benefit of children affected by the Mt. Kanlaon eruption.
These children are in different evacuation centers, and their physical and mental well-being are important. The SHS Department through its Student Council is reaching out to all Riverside Collegians to share stuffed toys or plushies that could bring comfort and smiles to the children going through stressful situations. Riverside College continues to support NVC in creating positive impact to various communities in the country especially in the province of Negros Occidental.
